Alhassan Abukari Kilwa

Alhassan Abukari Sadiq Kilwa was born on the 10th of February 1990 in Yendi where he had his elementary, primary and Junior High School. Le Yendi primary and Naa Yakubu Junior High school respectively. He attended St. Charles Senior High School and completed his Senior High School education at the Tamale Presbyterian Senior High School where he studied Business. In the early 2000s to 2008, he was an active member of Yendi Boys Scout where he became the first young commander and a scout master at the age of 17, as a scout master he was helpful and cheerful to influence many of his peer to join the association where teaching and learning was used to engage pupils in their prime hours to be discipline and socially guided.


Right after senior high school in 2012, he had his first job as a Direct sales person with Airtel Ghana (now AirtelTigo) in Tamale and in six months, he was promoted to the position of a Trade developer and a merchandizer. Upon leaving cademy, he managed Dakam printing Press and later same year, joined Hopin Academy, the first pioneer care taker manager in 2014/2015. He discovered his passion and interest in advocacy and social services after senior high school in 2013. He was introduced to curious Minds Ghana Northern chapter in Tamale, he joined curious Minds as a member of the chapter and through hard work and dedication he first made it to the chapter radio panel, became program moderator and later voted to the position of vice president of the chapter in 2016 and 2017.


Mr. sadiq Kilwa affectionately called SK by his peers has volunteered with so many organizations with youth development focus just to mention few, he volunteered for Dance4life Ghana as a project facilitator, Global platforms, Theater for social Change, Resilience Africa Network for sanitation and Activista where he contributed immensely to youth empowerment. In the year 2015 he gained admission to study BSC social Change communication at the University for Development studies and three months in the school he was a lead petitioner that petitioned the then SRC for financial malfeasance and later sent the case to court having been denied justice by the SRC Judiciary and Appeals board, he proceeded the case to court and won. He was also a founding member of the Bee eye group now the rescue mission which was the biggest student advocacy and activist group on the campus. By his compassion and dedication to student welfare he was voted into office as the President of student’s representative council (SRC president) in the 2018/2019 academic year. As the SRC president of the UDS Nyankpala campus notable among his achievements were.


  • The extension of internet facilities to lecture halls that had no internet access to help students in their researches and online studies.
  • The review of the development levy for the construction of SRC secretary
  • His administration by the end of office was the first to have organized more capacity building programs and events of 34, e.g. the google consortium training on research and data analysis seminar. Youth in governance conference with the second deputy speaker of the parliament of Ghana.
  • He encouraged female participation which resulted in the election of the first female SRC president in the 27 years history of UDS.

His administration also suffered media struggle having to clear the SRC Jersey on Jeans (JOJ) reported by Star FM and UTV as sex party and UTV media case of students assaulting a reporter. He diligently acted within the confines of the law to resolving the issues and was recognized as a youth friendly leader by SRC General Assembly. He is currently working at Stanbic Bank Ghana Customer Care Center Inbound Unit. Amazingly Dream Esteem Cycle is an organization he founded alongside his national service.


Sadiq Kilwa is a critical thinker and a great team player who likes watching political documentaries, and political talk shows and News headlines. He also enjoys travelling and exploring news places, he equally loves writing and watching football. As a Muslim he belief the living can be born out of the dead and the dead out of the leaving.
